Non-Key expert 1:  Support Officer for EU Assistance Visibility and EU Desks in municipalities

Project description:

The overall objective of this project is to increase the level of information and public awareness of the Albanian population about the European Union, its policies and programmes, about their impact on citizens' daily lives, and about the accession process and about EU membership.

The purposes of this project are as follows:

  • To provide objective, clear and accessible information to Albanian citizens and to specific target groups on the EU, its policies and assistance programmes;
  • To provide assistance to the EU Delegation to conduct efficient public diplomacy and outreach activities

Project duration:

12 months

Role:

S/he will be based in Tirana office, but required to travel locally on very regular basis. S/he will coordinate and implement activities related to effective support to the visibility of EU assistance (Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance and other) as well as enhanced communication of reforms supported by EU assistance (e.g. sector budget support programs).S/he will be responsible for supporting the EU desks with organisational and content wide information. This will be done in close coordination with the Municipalities for Europe Team leader, who retains ultimate operational responsibility for the performance of the EU Desks. S/he will work under direct supervision under the Project Leader. S/he will work closely with other staff of the project especially for events and campaigns. S/he will closely cooperate with the EU assistance projects with respect to the implementation of their communication and visibility plans, enhancing the visibility and communication on EU assistance and with the staff the EU Delegation. S/he will be highly mobile and flexible and will coordinate and implement activities related to all aspects of improving visibility of EU assistance in Albania.

S/he will be responsible for updating and maintaining the database of EU assistance, EU funded projects and the Map of EU Funded Projects and a database of EU funding opportunities. S/he will show imagination and creativity in communicating EU assistance, while at the same time ensuring strict application of EU visibility guidelines as well as campaign slogans and visuals. S/he will be responsible for logistical requirements and practical aspects of ensuring the visibility of events, coordination of all parties involved in the execution from team members to outside support staff or especially contracted personnel. S/he will ensure involvement of information multipliers and networks.
